Planora ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our collaborative travel planning service, mobile apps, and associated APIs.

By accessing or using Planora, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when registering, setting up a profile, creating trips, splitting budgets, or communicating with us. This includes:

  • Account details (Username, Email, Full Name, Password, and profile avatars).
  • Collaborative Trip Data (pinned map locations, custom itineraries, flight codes, shared expenses, and uploads to Shared Memories).
  • Device metadata (IP Address, Browser Type, operating system, and push subscription details for notifications).

We collect the name and email you sign up with, the details of the trips you plan, the expenses you add, photos you upload, and standard technical details from your device.

3. How We Use Data

We process your information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the fulfillment of our contract with you, compliance with legal obligations, and user consent. We use your data to:

  • Facilitate real-time collaborative map edits and expense balances across group members.
  • Train and trigger our momentum engine prompts and itinerary generation algorithms (using OpenAI/Groq APIs, without storing personal tokens).
  • Send push alerts about trip date locks, itinerary modifications, and expense settlements.

We use your details to make sure you and your friends can plan trips in real-time, generate routes using AI, split expenses, and receive timely push notifications.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your details are shared only in the following scenarios:

  • **With group members**: Your full name, profile username, profile photo, and budget balances are visible to other members of the groups you join.
  • **With third-party vendors**: Database storage via Supabase, emails via Resend, and analytics via Vercel. These providers only access data necessary for their service.

We never sell your data. We share your profile name with friends you plan trips with, and securely sync data with our hosting partners (like Supabase).

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures, including database Row Level Security (RLS) on Postgres schemas, to protect the security of your personal information.

However, please remember that no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed 100% secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our services is at your own risk.

We use state-of-the-art security filters so only group members can see group trips. While we do our best to encrypt and protect data, internet transfers always carry some small risk.
